The Founder's Story
"I know what it feels like to hear the words you never expected. I also know what it means to come through them with hope intact."
I'm Opal, born and raised in Jamaica, now calling Canada home, and a three-time breast cancer overcomer. What was meant to silence me became my calling: to walk alongside women navigating breast cancer with honesty, humour, and faith that refuses to quit.
When I was diagnosed, I made the deeply personal decision to follow a naturopathic healing path rather than conventional chemotherapy or radiation. It was a courageous choice that shaped not only my recovery but also the way I understand healing, as a whole journey of body, spirit, and community. That experience lit the fire in me to build The Little C & Me, because every woman deserves support that honors her own path.
This community was born from that fire, a warm place where no woman has to feel unseen or alone, no matter what healing path she walks. Whether you are navigating conventional treatment, holistic care, or a blend of both, you are welcome here. There is no single right way, only the way that is right for you. Through the podcast, conversations, and the growing sisterhood we are building together, I'm here to listen, to share, and to remind you that your story is still unfolding.

Everyone told me breast cancer doesn't hurt. They were wrong, at least when it came to my body, and I nearly missed my diagnosis because of that myth.

After my diagnosis I made a decision: if I'm going to die, it will not be because of what I put in my mouth. That decision changed everything.
